Nursing Bras [Jul. 25th, 2006|04:02 pm]
New Mommies

Are there any plus-size women in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that can tell me a good place to go for nursing bras? I'm just kind of leery about ordering this type of thing on the internet...I'd like to be able to try it on.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

on the same vein of other non-napping babies...

mine is almost 5 months, and hates to take naps. she goes to sleep between 8 and 9 at night, and initially wakes up around 5-6 in the morning. she'll take little cat naps, maybe 15-20 minutes max, but usually no more than that. and only maybe 2-3 times a day. and then today, she slept a total of half an hour, all of it while nursing. the minute i would try to put her down in her crib, she would wake up, and be screaming...the only thing that would pacify her would be me holding her. or holding her and nursing her...which my boobs didn't take too kindly to!

is this just a phase, or is it she just likes to be awake? i mean, i don't mind playing with her, but i was going to clean today... :D

Okay ladies out there that have or are experiancing this WHAT TO DO?!!

Okay she is refusing her nap and bedtime took me an hour to get her to sleep after her screaming like someone was torturing her. And also she doesn't eat very well at all like maybe 3 bites of something...just a few days ago she was eating everything under the sun...I'm at my wits end I don't know what's going on..She has no fever so I don't think it's an infection..she does have allergies but she is on zyrtec and has been since Oct of last year. Anything would be soo appreciated...I don't know what to do anymore.

cabinet latch suggestions? [Jul. 2nd, 2006|07:59 pm]

I bought the Safety 1st Cabinet & Drawer Latches kit and it sucks so bad and the instructions are illegible and horrible and there are three barely visible pale-blue and white pictures and that's IT and I can't install them.  Can't.  So all my makeup is around the very edge of my tiny sink (no vanity or space or countertop, cos it's a 1950's house), along with my laundry soaps, cleaning products, etc. - oh, and on the back of my toilet.  Grrr.

Recommend a brand of easy-to-install cabinet latch for a hardworking frustrated single-mom please?  I need to go buy something soon (and cheap) cos this is just killing me.

For Sale: Lucky Baby sling [Jun. 21st, 2006|02:57 pm]

hi there!
i am selling my beautiful lucky baby sling! i love this sling, and have gotten tons of compliments on it. the fact is, it's too big on me. it is in excellent condition, size medium. i've worn it probably four times, and have washed it once. the outside fabric is 100% cotton "dots" pattern, and the inside is nice cocoa minky plush. very soft. it is reversible, however.
i paid $35 for it plus $9 shipping, and i'm hoping to get $35 PPD for it. i'm in canada. make me an offer if you think the price is too high.
sizing (from the lucky-baby website) is as follows: medium - 24 - 25" (61 - 64 cm) from shoulder to hip.
if this is not allowed, i will gladly delete it.
thanks!

biting! [Jun. 15th, 2006|12:37 pm]
New Mommies

My son has 10 teeth and more coming in every day it seems. He has seriously been teething for 6 months. That's been okay and we use Hyland's and frozen watermelon, etc. with pretty good success, but lately all he wants to do is bite Momma and occasionally other people. How can I teach him that biting stuffed animals, toys, etc. is fine but biting people is not? He does not bite while breastfeeding. I never yelled (except involunatary "ows!") but just removed the breast for a while when he tried and he hasn't done that since he was about 5-months old, but I don't know how to remove *myself* so he won't try to bite me.

HELP???

OK, my friend came to me with a problem, and I thought maybe you all could help. She has a four year old who is potty trained. Lately though, she poops in her pants. She never wets herself, its only poop. She's not sick, and she knows she's supposed to go in the potty. She will have two good days, then seven or so bad ones. When she asks why she did it Sarah will say "I can't". My friend has tried everything, taking toys/snacks away, time outs, not going swimming or to the zoo, even making her clean the undies herself. She is at her wit's end so I thought someone else may have gone through something similar. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Teeth! [Jun. 1st, 2006|10:08 pm]

[mood |draineddrained]

I have a teething baby who is absolutely miserable! I just discovered a trick that works pretty good if anyone else is in the same boat. I cut carrots into large sticks and put them in the freezer. She likes gnawing on them. I hope this helps someone. Anyone else have advice?
